Post-Olympic blues

Greenwich is very quiet now that all the horses and crowds have gone,  but at least we have been able to move back into our offices. Many people are on leave or tied up with clearing, but the XCRI project has been ticking along, most recently with meetings with Marketing and the people who liaise with UCAS about the information requirements they might have from the XCRI feed.

I'm working on the progress report for JISC on the XCRI project. The JISC on-line meeting on Friday was really helpful to hear what other people are up to.

Wednesday 25 April 2012

The XCRI Project Board met yesterday afternoon. I think everyone is finding it very helpful that the JISC aggregator is now up and running, which gives us a much better idea of what we are aiming for.

Today it is pouring with rain. The Queen is coming to Greenwich to reopen the Cutty Sark and there are going to be 10,000 soggy school children here.

Thursday 5 April 2012

The JISC on-line meeting earlier this week allowed us to have a look at what an aggregator for the XCRI-CAP feed will look like, which I thought was very interesting. I am encouraging members of the XCRI Project Board to have a look , because I think it will give everyone a better idea of what the end product will look like.

JISC online meeting

I have just 'attended' one of the JISC on-line project meetings. I think I'm finally getting used to these on-line meetings and it certainly beats treking across London on the tube in this lovely weather!

Technical workshop

We had a really useful technical workshop with Alan Paull on 21 March. Lots of issues discussed, particularly about how to set the presentations, and whether to attach information to course or to presentation.

Thursday 16 February 2012

Update on work so far: under stage 1 we created a 'quick and dirty' XCRI feed, complying with the XML rules, but containing just minimal information that is readily available for our systems. We are now moving forward into stage 2. The XCRI Project Management Board met on 14 Feb and went through a document of all the XCRI fields, discussion which should be populated and how.
